Eight Teams Confirmed for Chișinău Arena Showdown

The tournament will be staged at Chișinău Arena in Moldova from 28 September to 5 October 2025. The official draw is scheduled for 15 May at 20:00 CET (21:00 local time), which will determine the group stage matchups for the finals.

Main Round: Intense Battles and Historic Moments

Each of the seven qualifying teams topped their respective groups in a fiercely contested main round.

  • Group 1 saw Italy secure their place at the finals, overcoming Slovakia (the host nation), Germany, and Romania. Italy continues their consistent presence, having now qualified for three successive editions.
  • In Group 2, Spain showcased their pedigree by finishing top, ahead of Hungary (hosts), Finland, and England. The Spanish squad has an illustrious record in this competition, having won the inaugural tournaments in 2019 and 2022 before finishing as runners-up in 2023.
  • Group 3 delivered one of the most dramatic moments, as Portugal, playing on home soil, drew 4-4 with France in their final group match. Thanks to superior goal difference, Portugal edged out France and booked their ticket to Moldova, where they’ll aim to defend the title they clinched in Croatia two years ago.
  • Slovenia emerged from Group 4, fending off Belgium, Latvia (the host team), and Andorra. Slovenia’s rise has been notable, having reached the semi-finals in their debut appearance in 2023.
  • Group 5 featured another strong performance from Ukraine, who topped a competitive pool including Serbia (hosts), Netherlands, and Montenegro. Ukraine has now qualified for all four editions of the U19 Futsal EURO, making the semi-finals in both 2019 and 2022.

Host nation Czechia triumphed in Group 6, finishing ahead of Poland, Greece, and Estonia. This marks Czechia’s first-ever qualification for the U19 Futsal EURO finals – a major milestone for their youth futsal program.

Finally, Türkiye emerged victorious in Group 7, surpassing Croatia (the 2019 runners-up and 2023 hosts), Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Azerbaijan. This will also be Türkiye’s debut appearance in the finals.

The 2025 Finalists

The full roster of teams competing in the final tournament includes:

  • Czechia
  • Italy
  • Moldova (hosts)
  • Portugal (holders)
  • Slovenia
  • Spain
  • Türkiye
  • Ukraine

Emerging Trends and Historical Context

Portugal continues to set the standard, having reached at least the semi-finals in all three previous editions, including a runner-up finish in 2022 before clinching the title in 2023. Spain, the only other nation with multiple titles, maintains their impressive consistency with a fourth consecutive qualification.

Ukraine also remains a mainstay of the competition, matching Spain and Portugal in qualifying for every edition. Meanwhile, Slovenia is proving to be a rising force, following up their 2023 semi-final appearance with another strong campaign. Italy, a regular participant since 2022, returns again, showcasing their growing investment in youth futsal development.

The 2025 edition will also mark a breakthrough for Czechia, Türkiye, and hosts Moldova, who will all be making their finals debuts. Estonia, although not advancing beyond the main round, made history by becoming the first team from their country to progress past a round of UEFA futsal competition at any level.

As anticipation builds for the finals in Chișinău, fans can expect a thrilling mix of experienced contenders and fresh challengers, all aiming to make their mark on the UEFA Under-19 Futsal stage.
