Ahead of the Total Futsal Africa Cup of Nations, Libya has appointed Julio Fernández as their Head coach and Daniel Berdejo del Fresno as his assistant fitness coach.
Both coaches along with other staff will be preparing the national team for the Total Futsal Africa Cup of Nations which gives the competing countries the opportunity to qualify for the 2020 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Lithuania next year.
Libya has been drawn in a tough group alongside Morocco, Equatorial Guinea, and South Africa. However, in their new head coach, Julio Fernández they have a lot of experience, he started his career as a player in Spain and captained the Spanish National Team. As a coach, he has experience coaching in the Liga Nacional de Futbol Sala 1st and 2nd divisions. Plus, he has won two Scudetti in Italy with Marca and Luparense.
Daniel has coaching experience in Spain, England, and America and like Julio, he can’t wait to get started with this new challenge in his coaching career.
Lucky enough to watch again the @LNFS game between @FCBfutbolsala and @InterMovistar thanks to my good friend @Pola7Futsal in this quick stop in Barcelona in direction to my new challenge. Amazing atmosphere. Awesome top futsal level! pic.twitter.com/cQ7TV58qpC
