Groups and Hosts Set for Futsal Women’s World Cup Qualifying Main Round
The road to the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in 2025 in the Philippines has begun with the European qualifying main round draw. Twenty-three UEFA entrants have been divided into six groups, each vying for a place in the elite round and ultimately, the World Cup finals.

The main round draw, held recently, featured a total of 23 teams, including five pre-selected hosts. The draw results are as follows:

Each group will host a mini-tournament from October 15 to 20, 2024. The winner of each group will advance to the elite round, joining top seeds Portugal and Spain. The elite round, scheduled for March 18 to 23, 2025, will consist of two groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each elite round group will secure a spot in the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup finals.
Notable Teams and Preparations
Ukraine, finishing fourth in the UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2019 and making subsequent strong showings, will be a team to watch. Hungary, also a consistent qualifier for EURO tournaments, is aiming to make an impact in this new competition. England, France, and Norway will be making their competitive debuts in women’s futsal, adding intrigue to their progress.

The host nation, Philippines, will automatically qualify for the World Cup. UEFA, with 4 slots, will join other confederations in qualifying teams:

Draw Procedure and Pre-Selection
Teams were split into four seeding positions based on their Women’s Futsal National Team Coefficient ranking. Five teams, including Sweden, Czechia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Moldova, were pre-selected as hosts and placed into Groups 1 to 5. Group 6’s host will be determined later from the participating teams.
