Futsal in Malta continues to grow due to the collective efforts of all those involved driving the sport forward
The first opportunity for fifteen-year-old boys to roll up their sleeves and show that they have the potential and determination to take up this wonderful sport at a higher level has come.
The Futsal Department within the Maltese Football Association led by Vice President Matthew Paris and Director Mark Marlow are organizing this first training stage for these youngsters after National team coach Zeljko Anicic and the his staff have time to watch these children improve their levels and qualities in the first edition of the Under-16 Futsal Championship.
A championship that is going very well, has met expectations, with very high standards when it comes to quality and always abides by the rigorous protocols linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Currently in the standings of the Championship, Pieta Hotspurs are in the lead and dominating with sixteen points, behind them is Sliema Wandererers with six points less but with a game in hand.
Naxxar Lions ‘Glenn Gauci is currently at the top of the Top Scorers list, with a total of 12 goals, followed by Pieta’s Hotspurs’ Ivin Gatt, just one goal behind him.
