Led by head coach Eduardo Sao Thiago “Duda,” Jimbee lived up to its billing as the favorite. The victory adds to the team’s impressive achievements this season, which include reaching the Final Four of the UEFA Futsal Champions League in their European debut. Their opponents, Real Betis, currently competing in Spain’s Segunda División, entered the match as leaders of their division and reigning Copa del Rey champions, showcasing their strength despite the lower tier.

Early Drama Sets the Tone

The match began with high intensity, and the momentum shifted early when Betis player Ismael received a red card for a foul on Mouhoudine. The numerical advantage allowed Jimbee to take the lead, with Darío Gil scoring from a Gabriel Motta assist.

Betis, however, refused to back down. A VAR review awarded them a penalty, which captain Lin converted to equalize. Jimbee goalkeeper Chemi made crucial saves to prevent Betis from gaining further ground. The home side regained the lead shortly after, thanks to a stunning solo effort from Fran Cortés, who delivered a clinical finish to make it 2-1.

Competitive Spirit Shines Through

Despite trailing, Real Betis displayed their competitive edge. Rafa López brought the game level just before halftime with a sensational strike assisted by Dickson, setting up an exciting second half.

Betis pushed hard after the break, with Cristian Povea and Pablo Otero forcing Jimbee’s goalkeeper Chemi into decisive saves. On the other end, Jimbee’s Motta and Osamanmusa came close to extending their lead but were denied by Betis’ defense.

In the final minutes, Betis opted for the fly goalkeeper to increase their attacking presence. However, an expulsion for Charly reduced them to four players. Jimbee capitalized on the opportunity, with Gabriel Motta sealing the win with a powerful strike for the 3-1 final score.

A Celebration of Futsal Excellence

Although Betis fell short, they earned admiration for their spirited performance against a Jimbee team that expertly managed the match’s key moments. The crowd at the Palacio de los Deportes gave a standing ovation to both teams, celebrating a high-quality contest.

Jimbee head coach Duda praised his squad’s commitment and highlighted the importance of the title in solidifying the club’s project. With the Super Cup secured, Jimbee now turns its attention to European competition as it seeks further success on the international stage.

This victory cements Jimbee Cartagena Costa Cálida’s position as one of Spain’s premier futsal teams, combining domestic success with rising prominence on the continental stage.
