2016 FIFA Futsal World Cup winning coach with Argentina Diego Giustozzi leaves ElPozo Murcia Costa Cálida, after four seasons without winning any title, to continue his career as coach of the Vietnamese national team, since, as he stated, “he could not give 100% to the club”.
The 43-year-old Argentine coach came to Spain to compete in the Futsal First Division after having guided his country’s national team to become world champions, said goodbye publicly at a press conference he offered at the Palacio de los Deportes de Murcia and in which he was accompanied by the president of the club, José Antonio Bolarín.
“He is a good person, an honest man with principles and who has not abandoned the team despite his difficult and dramatic personal situation due to the illness and death of his mother,” Bolarín wanted to highlight.
In addition, he has indicated that the team “did not win any title although he was in six finals”, and has wished Giustozzi to do “very well” after leaving “many friends” in Murcia.
Subsequently, Giustozzi has reciprocated by showing himself “grateful” to the club, the team, the press and the people of Murcia, “especially for the humane treatment and valuing that the person is above the professional.”
World Cup winning coach Giustozzi leaves El Pozo having reached 6 finals in 3 years but with no trophies to show for it. Next stop is back to national team management with Vietnam. His replacement will be former Baku Utd & Spain star Javi Rodríguez who leaves Santa Coloma. https://t.co/V1QznkI5dl

“At this stage of my life, which was a time of change in ElPozo, I did not have to win titles, but the affection received will make me always carry ElPozo and Murcia in my heart,” he said.
The goodbye of the one from Buenos Aires was taken for granted since before Christmas he had communicated that he was not going to renew and is going to lead the Vietnamese team.
“It’s been four very exhausting years, surely I’m leaving with more gray hair and less hair, and what hurt me the most was the loss of the Champions League final against Barça at the Palau”, he said, after what he pointed out : “I could have been wrong, but being honest and faithful to my principles.”
